Second and Third Coin of the Beatrix Potter Series Released

The second and the third coin in the 2016 Beatrix Potter cupro-nickel coin series feature Jemima Puddle-Duck and Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle respectively. They are available for £10.00 each. The fourth coin featuring Squirrel Nutkin will be released in August. Emma Noble designed the reverses and Jody Clark designed the obverses.The inscription on the latest coin featuring hedgehog washerwoman Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle is MRS. TIGGY-WINKLE. JEMIMA PUDDLE-DUCK is inscribed on the Jemima Puddle-Duck coin.
The obverses feature the common portrait of Queen Elizabeth II along with the inscriptions ELIZABETH II, D.G. REG. F.D. (a Latin abbreviation for “By the Grace of God, Queen and Defender of the Faith”), 2016, and 50 PENCE.
Beatrix Potter was a popular children’s author, illustrator, and land conservationist. The Tale of Peter Rabbit was first published in 1902. Beatrix Potter died in 1943 at the age of 77.
